Bats were blistered as Huntley Hitmen 12U defeated Dirtbags 12-8 on Saturday.
Huntley Hitmen 12U took an early lead in the first inning. Jake S’s sac fly scored one run for Huntley Hitmen 12U.
After Huntley Hitmen 12U scored two runs in the top of the fourth, Dirtbags answered with two of their own. Huntley Hitmen 12U scored when Jake singled off of Jason, driving in two runs. Dirtbags then answered when Matt doubled off of Tyler R, driving in one run.
Dirtbags knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning. An error scored one run for Dirtbags.
Huntley Hitmen 12U took the lead for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second there was an error, scoring one run.
Huntley Hitmen 12U scored five runs in the third inning. Huntley Hitmen 12U’s big inning was driven by a error, a double by Tyler, and a groundout by Nate T.
Dirtbags scored three runs in the third inning. Dirtbags’s big inning was driven by a double by Ben, a single by Dean, and a walk.
Tyler led Huntley Hitmen 12U with two hits in three at bats. Huntley Hitmen 12U stole 14 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Ben B led the way with three.
Dirtbags had 11 hits in the game. Bryan, Matt, and Dean each collected multiple hits for Dirtbags.

12u takes 2nd place at Sandlots of Salem April Slugfest

Congrats to our 12u team for having a great weekend finishing with a 3-1 record and taking 2nd place in the Sandlots of Salem tournament. Championship game was a heavyweight battle and the Hitmen came up just short to a very tough Lake County Lightning Black team. Great start to the Huntley Hitmen tournament season.

Huntley Hitmen 12U and Lake County Lightning played a tight game, but Lake County Lightning pulled out the 11-6 victory on Sunday. The game was tied at three with Lake County Lightning batting in the bottom of the second when Ben B induced Kaye to ground out, but one run scored.
Despite the loss, Huntley Hitmen 12U did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Lake County Lightning had eight hits on the way to victory.
Huntley Hitmen 12U captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Huntley Hitmen 12U.
Lake County Lightning took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Wolklan singled off of Ben B, driving in two runs.
Lake County Lightning scored four runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Lake County Lightning came thanks to a home run by Threde and a single by Arnold.
Ben and Jake S each collected multiple hits for Huntley Hitmen 12U. Jake and Ben each managed two hits to lead Huntley Hitmen 12U. Huntley Hitmen 12U stole eight bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Jake led the way with three.
Dean and Wolklan each collected multiple hits for Lake County Lightning. Dean led Lake County Lightning with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases.

Huntley Hitmen 12U defeated Storm Red 3-0 on Sunday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jeremy J induced a groundout from Padilla to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Huntley Hitmen 12U pitchers struck out eight, while hurlers for Storm Red sat down five.
One bright spot for Storm Red was a double by Padilla in the first inning.
Jake S earned the win for Huntley Hitmen 12U. He pitched three and two-thirds innings, giving up zero runs, two hits, and striking out five. Two relievers helped Huntley Hitmen 12U close out the victory. Jeremy J threw two innings. Jeremy recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Huntley Hitmen 12U.
Nate T led Huntley Hitmen 12U with two hits in three at bats.
Padilla went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Storm Red in hits. Storm Red tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Badgley led the way with two.

Huntley Hitmen 12U and Vernon Hills played a taut affair on Saturday, but Huntley Hitmen 12U eventually prevailed 15-6 after taking the lead for good in the second inning. The game was tied at four with Huntley Hitmen 12U batting in the bottom of the second when Jake R singled off of Pristas, driving in one run.

In the second Zyon S singled off of Pristas, driving in one run, Nate T singled off of Pristas, driving in one run, there was an error, scoring one run, there was an error, scoring two runs, Jake S homered off of Duggan, driving in two runs, there was an error, scoring two runs, and Nate singled off of Duggan, driving in one run.
Nate, Jake R, Preston S, and Jake each collected multiple hits for Huntley Hitmen 12U. Jake and Nikko E each drove in three runs to lead Huntley Hitmen 12U. Huntley Hitmen 12U stole 14 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Ben B led the way with three.
Vernon Hills tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Boehmer led the way with three.
