Hitmen lost 16-0 to LITH Thunder – Black at Lippold Park – Blue Turf Field on Monday as #42 allowed one hit over three innings.

LITH Thunder – Black never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring two runs on an RBI single by #22.

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Monday as Hitmen outscored Wasco Wilcats 10-9 in six innings.

There were 14 hits, including five extra base hits in the game.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

Hitmen pulled out the win thanks to a strong third inning. Hitmen went up for good on an RBI single by Jeremy Jaehnig off #34, plating Nikko Ezell.

Preston Sarna got the win in relief for Hitmen. Preston pitched two innings and allowed one run.

  1. was charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked three, struck out three, and allowed three runs.

Wasco Wilcats jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A single by #14, scoring #22 started the inning off. Wasco Wilcats added more runs when scored on a passed ball.

It didn’t take long for Hitmen to respond as it scored three runs of its own in the second. Hitmen scored on an RBI single by Preston, a passed ball, and a passed ball.

The lead was Hitmen’s to lose after third inning. More runs came home on an RBI single by Nikko.

Hitmen added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. David Kimpel doubled, bringing home Preston and Jake Russell to start the inning. That was followed up by Tyler Rojek’s single, bringing home David.

Three Wasco Wilcats runs crossed the plate in the top half of the fifth, making the score 8-7. An RBI double by #12, a groundout by #14, and a passed ball triggered Wasco Wilcats’ comeback. Finally, Jeremy got #34 to strike out to end the threat.

A two-run sixth inning helped bring Wasco Wilcats within one. An RBI single by #1 and an RBI double by #34 gave Wasco Wilcats life. Hitmen closed the game out when Jeremy got #12 to.

Our mission is to provide opportunities and exposure while competing at the highest levels in youth baseball and instilling discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, honesty and integrity. Huntley Hitmen teaches their players to respect the game, work hard, and to play hard.

Program Goals:

1. Provide each player with the opportunity to learn, develop, and improve their baseball skills on a regular basis. 2. Provide each player with an atmosphere that encourages mental, social, and emotional maturity. 3. Field successful teams at all levels. 4. Prepare players for high school advancement.

Philosophy Statement:

The Huntley Hitmen Baseball Club focuses on consistent hard work and striving to become a better ballplayer. We believe in pushing your teammates to be better, picking them up when they are down, and always believing in yourself. Character is revealed in times of adversity and baseball provides that adversity. By putting these young baseball players in extremely competitive situations, we help them develop their character which will benefit them not only in baseball, but in life.
