Ten hits weren’t enough for Hitmen as it lost a shootout, 13-8 in six innings, to the Crystal Lake Bulldogs on Thursday at Canterbury Yards Field #2.

Jeremy Jaehnig reached base three times in the game for Hitmen. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.

The Crystal Lake Bulldogs easily handled Hitmen pitching as six hitters combined for 13 hits, nine RBIs and nine runs scored.

The Crystal Lake Bulldogs went up for good in the first, scoring two runs on an RBI double by #1 and.

After pushing across one run in the top of the second, Hitmen faced just a 2-1 deficit. An RBI double by Jake Russell sparked Hitmen’s rally. The Crystal Lake Bulldogs stopped the rally after #21 got Trent Hanson to strike out.

It didn’t take long for the Crystal Lake Bulldogs to respond as they scored eight runs of their own in the second. The Crystal Lake Bulldogs scored on a two-run triple by #15, a groundout by #11, a groundout by #42, an RBI single by #7, an RBI double by #24, an RBI single by #1, and an RBI single by #21.

After pushing across four runs in the top of the third, Hitmen faced just a 10-5 deficit. A two-run double by Nikko Ezell, an RBI double by Jeremy, and a passed ball gave Hitmen life. Finally, #21 got David Kimpel to strike out to end the threat.

Hitmen scored three runs in the top of the fifth to cut its deficit to two. An RBI single by David, an RBI single by Preston Sarna, and an error fueled Hitmen’s comeback. The Hitmen threat came to an end when #1 finally got Alex Hernandez to strike out.

It didn’t take long for the Crystal Lake Bulldogs to answer as they scored three runs of their own in the fifth. The Crystal Lake Bulldogs scored on an error and a two-run single by #15.

Hitmen lost 7-5 in six innings on Saturday, despite outhitting Mchenry Outlaws eight to five.

Hitmen’s Jake Simpson was perfect at the dish, going 2-2. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

#7, #14 and #10 helped lead Mchenry Outlaws. They combined for four hits and two RBIs.

In the top of the first, Hitmen grabbed the early lead, 3-0. Jeremy Jaehnig singled to ignite Hitmen’s offense. The scoreboard lit up again for Hitmen when J scored on an RBI triple by Jake S and S scored on an RBI single by Zyon Schlee.

Mchenry Outlaws brought home one run in the first inning, and matched that run total in the second. In the first, Mchenry Outlaws scored on a groundout by #11, bringing home #7.

Hitmen scored one run in the fourth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fifth. In the fourth, Hitmen scored on an RBI single by Tyler Rojek, plating Trent Hanson.

Mchenry Outlaws answered Hitmen’s top inning with three runs of its own in the fourth. Mchenry Outlaws scored on a wild pitch, , and an RBI single by #6.

The game was never in doubt after the fifth, as Mchenry Outlaws scored two runs on a two-run home run by #14.

Hitmen and the Northwest Vipers passed the lead back and forth four times on Monday, but in the end Hitmen pulled out an 8-6 win in six innings over the Northwest Vipers.

Hitmen finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. A groundout by Jeremy Jaehnig scored Tyler Rojek and gave Hitmen the lead for good.

Hitmen held off the Northwest Vipers, as the Northwest Vipers were unable to overcome a five-run fifth inning deficit.

The Northwest Vipers scored three runs in the sixth on a two-run double by #22. Still, the Northwest Vipers couldn’t catch Hitmen.

David Kimpel got on base two times in the game for Hitmen. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning.

The Northwest Vipers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. The Northwest Vipers’ threat began with a single by #5. A stolen base then moved #5 from first to second. #22 singled, plating #5.

It didn’t take long for Hitmen to answer as it scored three runs of its own in the first. Hitmen scored on a three-run home run by Jake Simpson.

The Northwest Vipers matched their one-run second inning with one more in the third. In the second, the Northwest Vipers scored on an RBI single by #17, scoring #4.

Hitmen increased its lead with two runs in the fifth. A steal of home scored Tyler to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up with a steal of home by David.

Hitmen drops 7-0 game to Algonquin Storm

Hitmen fell 7-0 to Algonquin Storm at Lippold Park – Blue Turf Field on Monday.

Algonquin Storm never trailed after scoring five runs in the first on two doubles, a groundout by #17, and an RBI single by #27.

Preston Sarna held up his end of the bargain, but Preston couldn’t will Hitmen past Barrington Broncos as Hitmen lost 3-1 in six innings at Field of Dreams on Thursday.

Barrington Broncos couldn’t get anything going as long as Preston was pitching. Preston held Barrington Broncos hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

The lead stayed with Barrington Broncos after the first, when it scored one run on.

The sixth inning saw Hitmen score its only run on the day on an RBI single by David Kimpel.
