Huntley Hitmen 12U gets more hits, but not more runs in 8-6 loss to Strike Zone Black

Huntley Hitmen 12U lost 8-6 in seven innings at Melas Park #3 on Sunday, despite outhitting Strike Zone Black six to five.
Antonio S racked up three RBIs on three hits for Huntley Hitmen 12U. He singled in the second and fifth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
The top of the first saw Huntley Hitmen 12U take an early lead, 3-0. Huntley Hitmen 12U pushed more runs across when S scored on an error and J scored on a groundout by Jake S.
Strike Zone Black pushed across two runs in both the second inning and the fourth. In the second, Strike Zone Black scored on an RBI single by Brokowski, plating M D.
The game’s last lead went to Strike Zone Black thanks to a fifth inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on an error and two singles.
Strike Zone Black tacked on one more run in the bottom of the sixth when Ross stole home.
One run in the top of the seventh helped Huntley Hitmen 12U close its deficit to 8-6. An RBI double by Antonio gave Huntley Hitmen 12U life. Strike Zone Black closed the game out when Grossman got Alex H to strike out.
