Hitmen falls to New Lenox Rebels Red 9-4 in spite of Jeremy J's performance
Jeremy J did all he could to give Hitmen a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past New Lenox Rebels Red, as Hitmen lost 9-4 in five innings on Friday.
Jeremy went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for Hitmen. He singled in the first and fifth innings.
New Lenox Rebels Red was sparked by #18 and #5, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.
New Lenox Rebels Red stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring three runs on an error, a groundout by #27, and an RBI single by #7.
New Lenox Rebels Red increased its lead with four runs in the third. A error scored #28 for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by #8’s single, scoring #18 and #27.
Two runs in the bottom of the third helped Hitmen close its deficit to 8-2. A single by Jake S and a groundout by Trent H set off Hitmen rally. Alex H struck out to end the Hitmen threat.
After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the fifth, Hitmen faced just a 9-4 deficit. A single by Trent and a groundout by Alex gave Hitmen life. Finally, #24 got David K to strike out to end the game.
