Hitmen musters 5 hits, drops 15-3 contest to CDBL Rockets

Hitmen lost 15-3 to CDBL Rockets on Sunday, despite a total of five hits.

CDBL Rockets easily handled Hitmen pitching as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

Home runs for CDBL Rockets came when #14 homered in the second inning and #00 homered in the second and third innings.

CDBL Rockets went up for good in the first, scoring three runs on two singles.

One run in the top of the second helped Hitmen close its deficit to 3-1. An RBI single by Trevor Knoll triggered Hitmen’s comeback. #9 ended the inning by getting Tyler Rojek to ground out.

CDBL Rockets quickly matched Hitmen’s strong inning with a seven-run inning of its own in the second. CDBL Rockets scored on a two-run home run by #14, an RBI triple by #4, an RBI single by #25, a two-run home run by #0, and an RBI single by #99.

One run in the top of the third helped Hitmen close its deficit to 10-2. An error gave Hitmen life. CDBL Rockets stopped the rally after #0 got Jake Russell to fly out.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fourth, Hitmen faced just a 14-3 deficit. A groundout by Tyler set off Hitmen rally. The game went final when Zyon Schlee.
