Despite Jake Simpson’s 2-2 performance at the plate on Thursday, Hitmen took a 14-4 loss at the hands of the Huntley Red Raiders.

The game’s last lead went to the Huntley Red Raiders thanks to a first inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on an RBI single by #20.

One run in the top of the second helped Hitmen close its deficit to 3-1. An RBI single by Preston Sarna gave Hitmen life. But, #24 got Tyler Rojek to ground out to end the inning.

After a quick strike from Hitmen, the Huntley Red Raiders responded with 11 runs in the second. The Huntley Red Raiders scored on an error, a wild pitch, a two-run triple by #4, an RBI single by #20, a three-run triple by #24, an error, and a two-run double by #16.

Two runs in the top of the fourth helped Hitmen close its deficit to 14-3. A wild pitch and an RBI single by Zyon Schlee sparked Hitmen’s rally. Finally, #24 got Tyler to fly out to end the threat.

One run in the top of the fifth helped Hitmen close its deficit to 14-4. A steal of home by Nikko Ezell triggered Hitmen’s comeback. #2 got the last out, as Hitmen’s Jeremy Jaehnig.

Hitmen lost 7-1 to LITH Thunder – Gold at Lippold Park – Blue Turf Field on Tuesday as #44 allowed zero hits over two innings.

Jake Simpson reached base two times in the game for Hitmen. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the sixth inning.

LITH Thunder – Gold was sparked by #12 and #45, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.

The lead stayed with LITH Thunder – Gold after the first, when it scored three runs on two singles.

In the sixth inning, Hitmen pushed across its only run of the day on a solo home run by Jake S.

Hitmen falls 10-9 after big Bison Outlaws comeback

Hitmen saw victory slip away on Sunday when a six-run third inning lead disappeared after a furious charge from Bison Outlaws, who ended up with a 10-9 win.

Alex Hernandez got a hit in each of his two at bats. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third inning.

Hitmen jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Hitmen added more runs when Ezell scored on a steal of home and Jaehnig scored on a wild pitch.

After a quick strike from Hitmen, Bison Outlaws responded with three runs in the first. Bison Outlaws scored on a three-run home run by #9.

Bison Outlaws didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the fifth inning when it scored on a groundout by #23.

Hitmen loses Rawlings Hitters Baseball Academy 6-4

Trevor Knoll held up his end of the bargain, but Trevor couldn’t carry Hitmen past Rawlings Hitters Baseball Academy as Hitmen lost 6-4 in six innings on Saturday.

Trevor handled Rawlings Hitters Baseball Academy’s lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Trevor allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks over 3 2/3 innings.

Rawlings Hitters Baseball Academy was sparked by #30 and #23, who teamed up for three hits and five RBIs.

Hitmen jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. A single by Trent Hanson, plating Jake Russell started the inning off.

After a quick strike from Rawlings Hitters Baseball Academy, Hitmen responded with two runs in the fourth. Hitmen scored on an RBI double by Jake Simpson and a groundout by Zyon Schlee.

Rawlings Hitters Baseball Academy never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring four runs on a three-run home run by #23 and an RBI single by #27.

Hitmen scored one run in the bottom of the sixth to cut its deficit to two. An RBI single by Jeremy Jaehnig gave Hitmen life. Hitmen’s Zyon to end the ballgame.

Jeremy Jaehnig carried Hitmen to a 6-4 victory over LITH Thunder – Gold on Saturday with a strong game at the plate and on the rubber.

Jeremy racked up two RBIs on two hits for Hitmen. He singled in the first and fifth innings.

LITH Thunder – Gold couldn’t get anything going as long as Jeremy was pitching. LITH Thunder – Gold managed just one hit off of J, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out two during his two innings of work.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with five lead changes.

Hitmen finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fourth inning. Hitmen scored on an RBI single by Preston Sarna off #17, scoring David Kimpel.

Hitmen held off LITH Thunder – Gold, as LITH Thunder – Gold was unable to overcome a three-run fifth inning deficit.

LITH Thunder – Gold scored one run in the sixth on an RBI double by #2. Still, LITH Thunder – Gold couldn’t draw even.

The bottom of the first saw Hitmen take an early lead, 2-0. The Hitmen attack began with a single from Tyler Rojek. A stolen base then moved Tyler from first to second. Hitmen added more runs when E scored on an RBI single by Jeremy.

After posting one run in the third, Hitmen again scored one in the fourth. In the third, Hitmen scored, bringing home Trevor Knoll.

Hitmen built upon its lead with two runs in the fifth. A clutch ground out scored Tyler to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Jake Simpson’s single, scoring Jeremy.
