Hitmen drops 12-1 game to Chicago Mudcats

Hitmen wound up on the wrong side of a 12-1 score on Saturday, tasting defeat at the hands of Chicago Mudcats.
Chicago Mudcats increased its lead with two runs in the second. A clutch ground out scored #00 to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by #1’s single, scoring #27.
Chicago Mudcats piled on eight more runs in the top of the third. A hit into a fielder’s choice scored #13 for the inning’s first run.
Hitmen scored its only run of the game on an RBI double by Jake S in the third inning.

Hitmen lost 15-6 to River Forest Friday despite Jake S’s two-hit day at the dish.
Jake S got a hit in each of his two at bats. He singled in the first and fifth innings.
The game’s last lead went to River Forest thanks to a first inning rally that saw four runs cross the plate on a two-run double by #9 and two singles.
River Forest scored four runs in the second inning, and then followed it up with four more in the fifth. In the second, River Forest scored on a passed ball, scoring #5.
A five-run fourth inning helped bring Hitmen within five. A walk by Trent H, a two-run single by Trevor K, a hit by pitch, and a walk by David K set off Hitmen rally. Jake R struck out to end the Hitmen threat.
After pushing across one run in the top of the fifth, Hitmen faced just a 11-6 deficit. An RBI single by Jake S fueled Hitmen’s comeback. River Forest’s #1 induced a Jeremy J to close things out.

Hitmen drops 16-4 game to the Huntley Red Raiders

Hitmen fell 16-4 to the Huntley Red Raiders at Canterbury Yards Field #2 on Tuesday.
Hitmen was led by Jeremy J’s hitting. Jeremy went 1-1, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the first inning.
The Huntley Red Raiders easily handled Hitmen pitching as seven hitters combined for 14 hits, 13 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
The top of the first saw Hitmen take an early lead, 1-0. A double by Jeremy, bringing home Zyon S started the inning off.
The Huntley Red Raiders didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring four runs in the first inning when they scored on a two-run home run by #22, an RBI single by #24, and an RBI triple by #4.
One run in the top of the third helped Hitmen close its deficit to 4-2. An RBI single by Zyon gave Hitmen life. #19 ended the inning by getting Jake S to.
The Huntley Red Raiders scored nine runs of their own in the third. The Huntley Red Raiders scored on an RBI single by #24, an RBI single by #34, a two-run double by #28, an RBI double by #19, a two-run double by #10, an RBI single by #4, and an error.
Two runs in the top of the fourth helped Hitmen close its deficit to 13-4. and a groundout by Jake R fueled Hitmen’s comeback. #4 got the last out, as Hitmen’s Trevor K.

Hitmen falls 3-2 to Pro Player

Jake S did all he could to give Hitmen a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Pro Player, as Hitmen lost 3-2 in six innings on Thursday.
Jake S boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace Hitmen. He singled in the first and fourth innings.
Five relief pitchers finished off the game for Pro Player. #22 faced six batters in relief, while #44 managed to record three outs to aid the victory.
The lead stayed with Pro Player after the first, when it scored two runs on an RBI double by #8 and an RBI single by #44.
Pro Player survived Hitmen’s surge and put up one run of its own in the fourth. Pro Player scored on an RBI single by #44.

Preston S did his best to will Hitmen to a win with a two-hit game, but Hitmen dropped a 7-0 contest to the Lake County Lightning Black on Wednesday.
The Lake County Lightning Black never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring five runs on an RBI double by #7, an error, a groundout by #20, and an RBI single by #33.
